Anne René de Cotret was born in Trois-Rivières in 1954. She lives in Nicolet since 1970. Very young, she was initiated into drawing and painting by painters Marcel Bellerive and Leo Ayotte, in their workshop in St-Roch de Mékinac. Over the years, she explores realism, figurative and impressionism. Multidisciplinary self-taught painter, his mediums are acrylic, oil and mixed media.
She affixes various colors with a spatula from a spontaneous gesture. In constant exploration, according felt inspiration, she paints life moments that are shared between reality and memories.
It is located between the figurative and impressionism without, however, cross the line, which brings him a lot of latitude in creating series on different themes. It does not seek perfection of the subject in detail, but rather the emotion that will be felt by the viewer.
To increase the possibilities for disseminating the work of artists, from the region of Central Quebec and Mauricie in 2006 it organizes annual exhibitions at the Galeries Nicolet. In 2008, with the collaboration of Popular Arts Centre Nicolet, more than one hundred artists were able to present their work to visitors at the Meeting of Painters.
