Médusa
Medusa ( acrylic on canvas, 46x38cm ) refers to the Greek myth and multiple interpretations about it. I chose to focus my work on the look that is worn on the body, the eyes of others and their effects.
Medusa 's hair , usually represented by snakes is replaced by the red and blue. The red recalls the negative effects of emotions that can distort the self-image. These " impulses " that will make the head of Medusa , especially his eyes , become a distorting mirror that horror petrified .
Blue, symbolizing serenity and depth leads to a more salutary reflection on self knowledge . Medusa is no longer a threat to itself but becomes a weapon (as Perseus ) . Besides, the lotus , the symbol of the realization of being, illustrates this personal victory .
